Firearm Training
Much like driving a car, your ability to accurately and quickly operate a firearm is improved with additional training at the range. This should be done on a regular basis once you’ve received your licence; however, if you purchased your firearm from the False Bay Firearm Training Academy, you’ll be able to train with your very own pistol before you receive the license. Chat to one of our instructors about pre-license training and what the legal requirements are.
Unfortunately, shooting performance declines with time and a lack of practice. This has a lot to do with recoil management (not flinching), trigger control (the importance of not moving the firearm while pressing the trigger) and rapid sight acquisition.
All of these skills noticeably decline without regular practice, which is why it's not uncommon to see previously competent shooters suddenly miss a relatively close target after not shooting for a while.
But let's face it, ammo's not cheap, which is why it's vital that your firearm training be meaningful and effective. Put another way: You need the best "bang" for your buck using training principles and techniques that get results.
In truth, the same applies to our instructors, who are always honing and adapting their shooting skills by teaching and learning from others.
Whether you're looking to learn for self-defence, shooting sports, or business purposes, the Firearm Training Academy is here to help. Call one of the numbers below to speak with a firearm instructor about how to take your shooting skills to the next level.
