HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO I NEED TO GO SHOOTING?
None. Our qualified instructors have carried out thousands of safe shooting packages and experiences for all levels of visitors, from experienced South African families shooting guns during school holidays to international tourists who don’t have the opportunity to shoot guns in their home country. For over 10 years, we’ve yet to see a visitor leave the range without a broad smile across their face. Interaction with guests is what we love most about our job!
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO GO TO THE RANGE?
None. The Firearm Training Academy will provide everything you need for a safe and fun shooting experience. This includes properly registered firearms, ammo, as well as ear and eye protection. Ideally, wearing closed shoes is best. Other than that, the only thing you need to worry about is choosing which guns you’d like to shoot.
WHAT’S THE BEST GUN TO SHOOT IF I LACK EXPERIENCE?
Semi-auto rifles are a popular choice, given how easy they are to shoot accurately. However, each firearm platform offers an entirely different shooting experience. For example, shooting a shotgun is hugely different to shooting a revolver or bolt-action rifle. So, if you’re looking to maximise your fun factor, it’s best to shoot a wide variety of firearms, including shotgun, revolver, pistol, semi-auto rifle, and bolt-action rifle. They’re all uniquely fun to shoot in their own way.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GO SHOOTING?
Typically, around 12 years old. However, we can also offer alternative shooting experiences for younger kids, including airguns or paintball.
